Golf Day ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to provide the Golf Day experience:
- Account information — your name and email address when you create an account.
- Location — GPS coordinates while using the rangefinder feature, to calculate your distance to the green. Location is used in real-time and is not stored on our servers.
- Photos — images you choose to upload to the in-app photo feed. These are stored securely and shared only with members of your event.
- Golf data — scores, handicaps, course details, and event information you enter in the app.
- Device token — a push notification token to send you event updates (e.g. leaderboard changes, new posts). You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the Golf Day app and its features.
- To display your scores, position, and stats to members of your event.
- To send push notifications about your active golf day (scores, photos, banter).
- To remember your preferred course and hole data for future events.
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is only shared:
- With other members of your golf event (scores, photos, name).
- With service providers who help us operate the app (e.g. Supabase for database, Expo for push notifications), under strict confidentiality agreements.
- If required by law.
5. Your Rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by contacting us. You can also delete your account directly within the app.
6. Children's Privacy
Golf Day is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Golf Day after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
